BABS’ 40th Anniversary

Hanfris in Final
SABS was well represented at the BABS’ 40th Anniversary Convention in Harrogate, UK. SABS President, Gail Grainger, SABS Convention Manager, Cath Hunter, SABS Contest Administrator, Charles Grainger, and SABS Registrations Manager, Denise Addis, were all there, not only to celebrate BABS’ 40 years in barbershop, but also to support our own gold medal champions, The Hanfris Quartet, in their quest to qualify for internationals in Pittsburgh in 2015.

It was a weekend of unprecedented excitement, with fire alarms, a change of venue (a worst nightmare scenario for any event organiser, but handled with aplomb by the excellent BABS Convention Team), and the top stars of the international barbershop scene: Gas House Gang, Crossroads, Old School, Stormfront, Vocal Spectrum and OC Times from the USA and the lovely Finesse from the UK.

We’re delighted to say that Hanfris qualified for international and will be representing us in Pittsburgh. We can’t tell you how very proud we feel – a first for our very young barbershop organisation. Go Hanfris!
